Edoardo Agamennone has more than 10 years of experience in doing business with China, including 7 years in private practice with leading law firms in Europe and China and more than 3 years as legal in-house counsel. He currently works as Senior Legal Advisor of French energy firm EDF, based in Paris. His main areas of practice include M&A, corporate law, energy law, nuclear law and project finance. Throughout his career, Edoardo has advised Chinese, European and other national and multinational corporations on investment projects, ordinary and extraordinary corporate transactions in more than 30 jurisdictions worldwide.

Edoardo holds a LLB from the University of Rome III, a LLM degree in Chinese law from the University of Hong Kong and a PhD in financial and management studies from the School of Oriental and African Studies of the University of London. He is the author of several publications in the field of China’s financial system, Chinese outward foreign direct investments, China-Europe and China-Africa commercial relationships, energy and corporate law.

Giovanni Andornino is Assistant Professor of International Relations of East Asia at the University of Torino, where he heads the TOChina Centre, coordinating research, advanced training and track 1.5 networking with China. He is the Vice President of the Torino World Affairs Institute (T.wai), with responsibility over the “Global China” research program.

Giovanni holds a Ph.D. in International Relations from the Catholic University of Milan and an MSc in Global History from the London School of Economics and Political Science.  A former Fellow of the Transatlantic Academy (Washington D.C.) and Visiting Associate of the China Research Centre of the University of Technology Sydney, Giovanni is currently co-director of the Executive Training Seminar on China at the European University Institute in Fiesole.

Giovanni is the Editor of OrizzonteCina, Italy’s leading bi-monthly e-journal on current China affairs, and of, among the world’s most comprehensive websites on Chinese politics, IR and political economy.

Dr. Alessandro Arduino is the co – director of the Security & Crisis Management International Centre at the Shanghai Academy of Social Science (SASS-UNITO) and external affiliate at the Lau China Institute, King’s College London.

Dr. Arduino's two decades of experience in China encompasse risk analysis and crisis management. His main research interests include, Belt & Road Initiative security, China’s political economy and sovereign wealth funds. He is the author of several books and he has published papers and commentaries in various journals in Italian, English and Chinese languages.

His latest books are: Securing the Belt and Road Initiative (Palgrave 2018) - China’s Private Army. Protecting the New Silk Road (Palgrave 2017), Il Fondo Sovrano Cinese (O Barra O), Cina sotto il Cielo una Famiglia (Guerini).

He has been appointed Knight of the Order of the Italian Star by the President of the Italian Republic.

A cum laude graduate in Economics, Vittorio De Pedys is Affiliate Professor at ESCP Europe - Torino campus, where he offers executive courses on Private Banking, Financial Markets and Corporate Finance, mostly tailor-made for key Italian and international banks. For ESCP Europe he also teaches at MBA seminars and executive management courses of Problem Solving & Decision Making. Furthermore, he is Adjunct Professor of Private Equity at the University of Rome (Tor Vergata), and teaches Finance at a number of international business schools. Valuing education being as a two-way process, Vittorio is also receiving training on Participants-Centered Learning from the Harvard Entrepreneurship Education Colloquium.

Throughout his 20 years-long business career Vittorio worked in banking and investment banking in Italy, the UK and the US: having started as a Treasury (BNL) and bond dealer (UniCredit), he later became Director of Proprietary Trading (Merrill Lynch), then Executive Director of the Smith Barney London Branch, Head of Finance at Banca Salento, and finally group CFO at Banca ICCREA. A certified financial analyst, Vittorio also works as a consultant for the Italian Banking Association.

Jooyoung Park has more than 5 years of experience in conducting research in the field of Marketing and teaching China. She currently works at Peking University HSBC Business School (PHBS) as an assistant professor in management. Her primary research interests include consumer information processing, motivation, and online shopping. She has conducted several research projects in China, some of which aim to understand Chinese consumers and their shopping behavior. She teaches both an intro- and an advanced-level course in Marketing and has won an excellent teacher award in 2017 at PHBS.

Jooyoung holds a Ph.D. in Marketing from the University of Iowa, a M.S. in the field of Department of Management Engineering from Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST), and a B.B.A. from Kyungpook National University. She has published papers in marketing, psychology, and information systems, and her work has appeared in multiple media outlets. She has also presented her work in international conferences for over 10 years.
